Uber Promo Codes For Existing Users
Are you frustrated because you can’t seem to find any Uber promo codes for existing users? Well, today is your lucky day. This post will show you how to solve that problem and get you back out on the road with a pocket full of free rides.
You may have heard a rumor or two going around about the existence of Uber codes for current users. The rumor is true, but not in the way you would imagine. These codes do in fact exist, but are usually only released just for short events, and often times expire in a matter of days. Uber and Lyft usually release these codes for events like SXSW, and only have a validity of a week or so. The codes expire in such a short time because if existing users started using these codes, the ridesharing compaies would be bleeding cash.
But let’s cut to the chase; there are still plenty of ways for current Uber users to earn free ride credit. The methods outlined below have personally earned me thousands of dollars in free ride credit, so if you have patience and a little time, you can also become king (or queen) of the backseat.
1. Refer new riders
The first and easiest way that existing Uber users can earn free ride credit is by referring new users to the app. Uber views referrals as a type of inexpensive marketing, so they give existing Users free ride credit for every new user that a rider refers to the app. This amount varies by city, but is usually anywhere from $10 to $30 in free ride credit. So how do you refer a friend to Uber?
1. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner of the app
2. Tap the “Share” tab
3. Share your code through social media, email, text, on your personal blog, or by word of mouth!
4. When a new rider inputs your code and takes a ride, you get free ride credit. Easy!
2. Ride with a new Uber user
The next way for existing Uber users to earn free ride credit is a bit of a work-around, but will still earn riders a free ride. Find a friend who doesn’t have Uber yet, have them download the app and enter a promo code, then hop in the car with them. This method is always good for a free ride.
3. Get free ride credit from an Uber competitor
The best way to get free ridesharing credit is to think outside the box and check out the alternatives to Uber. While Uber is the most dominant player in the game, Lyft and Sidecar are right behind in the ridesharing race. Both of these companies are based on the app model of giving rides-on-demand, so you won’t be straying far from your comfort zone.
Refer to one of the following Lyft and Sidecar coupon codes for a free ride:
Lyft brands itself as a “fun and friendly” alternative to Uber. Drivers fistbump riders when they climb into the front seat. But don’t be deceived.. Lyft is as reliable and inexpensive as Uber, which definitely makes it a good alternative to check out.
Sidecar is different from both Lyft and Uber because rides are determined by pre-set criteria set by the riders, such as price and type of vehicle. While Sidecar is not quite as big as Uber and Lyft, it is still a reliable, free ride that is just a few taps away.
4. Watch for an Uber promotion
Uber likes to partner with well-known brands to provide users with more ways to save on Uber rides. For example, Uber Phoenix recently partnered with Bud Light to provide what they called the “Blue Line“. The complimentary Blue Line was a route-running shuttle that made stops at local hotels and hotspots, providing safe rides to and from Downtown Phoenix. There is really no set schedule for these promotions, so just watch Uber’s blog and you will likely see a promotion or two roll through every now and then.
